The SSH 6 uses a super directional mic to pick up sound on the centre and a bidirectional side mic to pick up sound from the right or the left to record a fully mono compatible stereo image for television, video, and film projects. For instance, it allows you to record a conversation or narration with the centre mic and then mix in the required amount of environmental sound captured by the side microphone in post production. This unit is supplied with a professional grade hairy windscreen, which you can use to prevent strong winds from hitting your Zoom SSH 6 Capsule and causing unwanted noise.
