Cosina lens designers succeeded in reducing the exterior lens barrel length to only 30mm despite this being a 50mm f2.2 standard lens. High performance optics using 7 elements in 6 groups, including 3 elements of anomalous partial dispersion glass, achieve excellent optical performance even wide open at f2.2. The minimum rangefinder close focus is 0.7 meters. This 50mm f2.2 lens is compact and lightweight, making it an ideal travel lens.
