The filter is densest at the edge and tapers toward clear in the center, with a soft transition line between the dense and bright areas. This soft edged design is suitable for photos with a prominent horizon or a soft transition between sky and land, such as forested landscapes and cityscapes. This filter reduces the light entering the lens by 2 stops and does not affect the color of the image.
